Run. Hide. Fight. Safety Training
University Police Services will hold an active assailant safety training Jan. 27- Jan. 28 at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), Charleston campus. This training is designed to teach the “Run. Hide. Fight.” response model and how to employ these methods in the event of an active threat. Similar trainings will also be conducted Jan. 31 – Feb. 6 across University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and other CSN campus locations:
- Jan. 31 – Feb. 1 at CSN, North Las Vegas
- Feb. 3 – Feb. 4 at UNLV, Maryland Parkway
- Feb. 5 – Feb. 6 at CSN, Henderson
The training and preparations will run throughout the day 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the various campus Student Unions.
During the training, which features both classroom instructions and multiple hands-on scenarios, trainers and participants will simulate an active shooter scenario.
Please be aware that during the training, you can expect to hear loud noises and see barricade scenarios. You may see and hear groups engaged in realistic training scenarios using disabled weapons with non-projectile blanks. Signage noting “Police Training in Progress” will be posted at all entrances to the Student Union to notify faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding these training sessions, please contact Adam Garcia, Associate Vice President & Director of University Police Services at (702) 895-5575 or via email firstname.lastname@example.org
