Description

New jurisdictions implementing sports betting into their casino environment face unique operating challenges. How do you successfully conceptualize, build, staff and operate a modern-day retail sports book? UNLV International Center for Gaming Regulation has the answers.

UNLV houses the only academic institute that has focused on the gaming industry for over 25 years. We are excited to again host the Retail Sports Book Operations seminar.

Education Partners:

John Lukasik is currently a Sports Betting Operations Manager with IGT and is former Director of Race, Sports, and Esports for Caesars Entertainment since March 2018, where he oversees operations at the Linq, Cromwell, and Flamingo. He brings with him nearly a decade of experience in the gaming industry, where he has worked primarily in gaming operations.

Rufus Peabody is a professional sports analyst who worked as a statistical analyst for Las Vegas Sports Consultants, the largest and most influential oddsmaking company in the world. He has a B.A. in Economics from Yale University, where he wrote his senior thesis on inefficiencies in performance evaluation in the Major League Baseball betting market.

Aaron Kessler brings with him over 15 years experience in the sports betting industry. In 2007, he pioneered the “Game of the Year” bets, which became instantly popular, and inspired other sportsbooks to offer the bets as well. In 2017, he was promoted to Assistant Director, and then Director in 2018, a position which he currently holds at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.

Vik Shrestha is Senior Director of Business Development at IGT PlaySports based in Las Vegas, NV. He leads commercial strategy and growth for IGT's fast growing sports betting vertical. Prior to IGT, he was Director of Business Development at William Hill, and he also held business development focused roles at Sega Sammy and GLI.

  1. In the event a course is canceled, registrants will be notified as soon as possible and receive a full refund of their registration fee.
  2. A service fee of Twenty Percent (20%) will apply to all participant initiated cancellations received three or less days prior to the event.
  3. All cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing. Refunds granted for credit card charges will be credited to the original account charged. No refunds will be given in the event of “No Shows.” Refunds may take up to 3 weeks for processing.
