Description
Join us for a free virtual interactive presentation, titled "The Past, Present, and Future of Spring Mountain Corridor: Real Estate Development, Culture, and Community.”
In this webinar, UNLV Alumna Minja Yan ’16, President of UNLV AAPI Alumni Affinity Club and adjunct professor at UNLV Lied Center for Real Estate, will explore the past, present, and future of the Spring Mountain corridor and its impact on the AAPI community. The opening of the Chinatown Plaza on Spring Mountain Road in February 1995 represented a new concept combining both commercial and cultural attractions. In 1999, Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn officially designated the area as Chinatown, and it continues to grow as the Asian population in Las Vegas expands rapidly. The spill-over effect of Spring Mountain Road has transformed the surrounding neighborhood into one of the busiest commercial corridors in Las Vegas, with many delicious Asian cuisines and AAPI-owned businesses. In addition, many AAPI nonprofits and community groups host their events, festivals, and meetings in this neighborhood.
