Description

The Changing Workforce Post-Pandemic in Southern Nevada and its Impact on Economic Diversification Efforts

Join us on Fri., Aug. 19, for a free virtual workshop - The Changing Workforce Post-Pandemic in Southern Nevada and its Impact on Economic Diversification Efforts presented by Andrew Woods, Director, Center for Business and Economic Research.

Every year, the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) produces the Clark County population forecast, which looks 40 years into the future regarding population, employment, demographics, and industry. The information is used by the County, Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC), and the Southern Nevada Water Authority to plan for Southern Nevada's future needs and growth. CBER forecasts an additional 700,000 people will move to the region in the next 18 years, or about five new individuals every hour. This CBER presentation provides an overview of the future for Las Vegas, how our workforce and economy will change over time, where our economy is headed, and what areas and industries we should strengthen based on the data. The presentation will include a Q&A session.
