Puppies Puppies: Performance and Screening

Description
The mystery revolving around the persona of Zabludowicz Collection Residency Artist, Puppies Puppies, echoes in the work: Puppies Puppies takes ready-mades to a new level by performing as Lord Voldemort, Spongebob or Gollum, bringing another layer to the already anonymous identity. Puppies Puppies also uses existing material like fan art, footage from websites, or mass produced items and calls them ‘open editions’. The result is anonymity in an age of oversharing and hyper-documentation, and a redefinition of privacy-issues – both the use of public images online and the idea of ‘self’.
The Zabludowicz Collection is a philanthropic organization committed to supporting emerging artists and the social dialogue around contemporary art making. Since 2015 it has been running an annual invitational artists residency programme based in Downtown Las Vegas to support artists in the research and development of new work and to respond to the unique location of Las Vegas. Stay tuned for more collaborations between the Barrick Museum and the Zabludowicz Collection.
