(Play)Ground Zero: Aaron Cowan's MFA Midway Exhibition
Please join us in celebrating Aaron Cowan's Midway Thesis Exhibition as part of the MFA in Fine Arts program. From March 24th through April 2nd, Cowan will be hosting his exhibition at Grant Hall Gallery on UNLV campus most evenings from 6-8 p.m.; visitors must RSVP through the eventbrite link.
Cowan mines his own history and shared experiences of growing up in the Southeast United States, wrestling with objects and materials from cultural identities of masculine power, their environments and accoutrements. By highlighting then accelerating the conventions governing these cultures to extremes, the work exposes their demands as inherently ridiculous, expanding cracks in social constructs with humor, vulnerability, and raw authenticity. Cowan works across mediums, including sculpture, video, installation and performance.
This installation was made possible in part by grant funds from the Graduate & Professional Student Association.
Please note that for the safety of our community, all campus visitors are required to wear a face-covering at all times
This event is free and open to the public, but must RSVP through the eventbrite link.
