Description
We proudly announce and enthusiastically invite all incoming freshmen, transfer students, and novice undergraduate researchers to OUR's two-day-long, in-person, immersive, inclusive, and comprehensive research program to serve as an Introduction to Research at UNLV.
This program is free of charge and entails undergraduate researcher showcases, faculty mentor presentations, professional development workshops, training sessions, and an introduction to UNLV's cutting-edge research centers, institutions, laboratories, programs, and facilities.
Please join us in the Student Union (SU) Ballrooms to learn about all the fascinating and inspiring research going on at UNLV, become a part of OUR undergraduate research community, and start your research journey! The event schedule is as follows:
- 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.: What is Research? Understanding the Research Cycle
- Presented by Dr. Levent Atici, Executive Director of Undergraduate Research & Professor of Anthropology
- 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.: Active Reading: How to Effectively Interrogate Text
- Presented by Dr. Levent Atici, Executive Director of Undergraduate Research & Professor of Anthropology
- 1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.: How to Navigate the Digital Information Landscape & Research Documentation
