OUR: Writing a Data Management Plan

Feb. 28, 2022, 2:30pm to 3:45pm

Office/Remote Location

Data management plans (DMPs) typically capture most components of the entire research process, encompassing research design and protocols, data sources, data types, formats, and volume, metadata standards, data collection, data documentation and organization, data storage, archiving, and long term data preservation, data sharing, and access, and data reuse. As data management is best approached during the initial stages of a research project and most funding agencies now require researchers to provide a data management plan with every funding application, it is essential that undergraduate researchers understand the aspects of data management plans sooner than later. In this workshop, students will learn how to draft a data management plan.

Learning Objectives

By participating in this workshop, you will:

  • Learn how to draft a data management plan (DMP)
  • Learn the contents of a data management plan (DMT)

  • Dr. Levent Atici, Executive Director, Office of Undergraduate Research
