OUR: Finding and Using Sources Beyond the Internet

Feb. 2, 2022, 2:30pm to 3:45pm

Office/Remote Location

This is a Medallion Sponsored Career Event

Thriving in an increasingly digital research ecosystem relies on students' ability to effectively locate, access, and organize information. This, in turn, requires familiarity with various referencing styles and freeware (e.g., Mendeley and Zotero) and software (e.g., Endnote). This webinar teaches student researchers the basics of digital resource management, including how to create and manage digital libraries, how to import, sort, and organize digital research publications, how to annotate, and how to create bibliographic references in MLA and APA styles. Students will also learn how to easily incorporate reference management freeware into Microsoft Word to organize and manage references locally.

Learning Objectives

By participating in this workshop you will:

  • Become familiar with the types of reference managing freeware and software.
  • Learn how to create and manage digital libraries.
  • Learn how to manage references in Microsoft Word.

  • Dr. Levent Atici, Executive Director, Office of Undergraduate Research
