As universities increase the volume of online courses offered, instructors feel immense pressure to create quality learning experiences. Seasoned professors and new Teaching Assistants alike are researching strategies to engage students in the new virtual norm. A key challenge when teaching online is taking known educational best practices and adapting them for an online environment. In this workshop, we will review how to translate and implement effective teaching principles in the virtual world. By participating in this workshop you will:

  • Learn how to adapt educational best practices to an online environment
  • Learn how to develop engaging course materials
  • Learn strategies that will keep students engaged in your online course
  • Learn how to best communicate expectations with your students in an online environment
