The College of Southern Nevada is hosting the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) 2020 Southern Nevada Diversity Summit designed to provide timely and valuable information about the current and emerging challenges and successes in achieving diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the United States, Nevada, and NSHE.
The theme for the Summit is “Knowledge to Action”. The goal is to call us to action to make changes in our daily thoughts and behaviors that affect our area of influence and beyond. The speakers and workshops will inform, question and challenge the status quo, allow for introspection, and make positive decisions about diversity, equity, and inclusion personally, professionally, and institutionally moving forward. The morning will feature a national speaker on social justice and equality for all. The afternoon will more on higher education in Nevada. Workshops focus on Black Lives Matter, LGBTQI+, DACA, Islamic culture, mental health, accessibility, microaggressions, and more.
Register today and see details at our website.
(Prior event day registration is highly recommended for seamless access to the Summit.)
We are also looking for short video submissions for our Best Practices Showcase in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Higher Education that will be featured during the Diversity Summit. Submit videos to CAPE@csn.edu by Friday, September 11.
