Many older adults are diagnosed with more than one health condition. It is common for the older population to experience changes in the quality and duration of sleep due to changes in the body’s internal clock. Mental health conditions like anxiety and depression are not normal elements of aging but may affect sleep in older people.
March's Geriatric Seminar for older adults and caregivers will review:
- Likelihood of the medications requiring lifestyle changes.
- Common changes in older adults regarding quality and duration of sleep due to medication and aging.
- Possible symptoms from prescribed medications including depression and anxiety.
- Basic information and safety tips for antidepressants and antianxiety medications.
