What's Goin On (A Soldier's Story), a new work presented as part of the NCT and School of Music New Works Festival, features Michael Jahlil and is directed by Nate Bynum.
The hardships of battle and war are sometimes only made more difficult by a return to 'the real world'. Such is the case within the play What's Going On (A Soldier's Story). The story of one black soldier's return home and his attempt to regain the life he left behind. A powerful story made even more moving by the use of Marvin Gaye's musical masterpiece, "What's Going On." The story and music are woven together to make a greater whole, and to help the rest of us really understand the question we are being asked in the play.
And the question of course is.....What's Going On?
