The Department of Finance and the Master of Science in Quantitative Finance program would like to invite you to a seminar by Professor Jeff Pontiff.
Pontiff is a professor in the Seidner Department of Finance at the Boston College Carroll School of Management. He has teaching and research interests in the area of corporate finance and capital markets and his research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and the Rand Journal.
Pontiff's papers have won numerous awards including both the Jensen Prize (first place), Amundi Smith Breeden Prize (first place), and the Sharpe Award (first place). He has held research or teaching positions at University of Washington, UCLA, Emory, Harvard Business School, National University of Singapore, ESCP-Europe, EPFL, Northeastern, and the Institute for Financial Research (Stockholm). The title of the seminar paper is: "A Century of Market Reversals: Resurrecting Volatility."
