The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Chamber Chorale will host the 30th annual Invitational Madrigal/Chamber Choir Festival in two separate sessions beginning at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Dr. Arturo Rando-Grillot Recital Hall located on the northeast end of the university campus in the Lee & Thomas Beam Music Center.
The Madrigal/Chamber Choir Festival is one of many events presented by the university choral ensembles each year. Established in 1985 as a small, informal gathering of choruses, the festival has grown into a popular musical event that attracts many outstanding choirs as well as a large enthusiastic audience of music lovers from throughout the community. A variety of music will be performed representing many composers and styles. Following each choir's performance the floor will be open for comments and questions from the audience members and festival participants.
Both festival sessions will conclude with a brief performance by the UNLV Chamber Chorale conducted by David Weiller, director of choral studies.
The Invitational Madrigal/Chamber Choir Festival is free and open to the public.
