In the second of our series of student performances, Kevin McDowell Stevens and Skylar Schock present Letters Home, featuring letters, cards, and articles written by soldiers who served in Iraq and/or Afghanistan (and their families). McDowell Stevens and Schock are each pursuing an MFA in performance from UNLV.

Kevin McDowell Stevens is thrilled to be sharing his work in Letters Home so close to Veterans Day. Growing up in a 3rd generation military family, he holds veterans and their memories close to his heart. Recently he was featured as part of The Theatre at St John’s memorial season marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. A Northwestern University graduate, other credits include: NY Theatre: Aida, Carmen, Turandot (The Metropolitan Opera); Der Ring Gott Farblonjet (Ridiculous Theatre Company); Scenes from the Day My Brother Was Wed (Chain Theatre); The Desire for Ecstasy (Manhattan Theatre Club Reading Series),  Dracula (13th St. Rep), God of Carnage (SOOP Theatre Company), Mary V (Theatre for the New City). Regional: Shakespeare Theatre Company (Washington D.C), Williamstown Theatre Festival, Chicago's Griffin Theatre, The Mime Company of Chicago. International: Woodchester Manor Players, Stroud, England.

Skylar Schock is an actress and producer. Recent film roles include Mel and Ruby directed by Oran Zegman and the award-winning dark comedy, She Had it Coming, directed by Gedde Watanabe. She has also recently appeared as Rosalind in As You Like It, in productions of Pride and Prejudice (CCPT), and a one act by Qui Nguyen at Cino Nights (Rising Phoenix Repertory). She is a graduate of the UCLA Professional Program in Acting for the Camera and served as a teaching assistant for the Producing Program under Tom Nunan. Skylar also trained at the Stella Adler Professional Conservatory and with master Meisner teacher Kathryn Gately.
