International Conference on Gambling and Risk Taking

The Institute for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gaming at the University of Nevada, Reno, in partnership with the International Gaming Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, are sponsoring the 15th International Conference on Gambling and Risk-Taking.

The primary objectives of the conference are to contribute to the base of scientific knowledge about gambling in all its dimensions, to stimulate further research, and to facilitate discussion and dialogue about gambling and commercial gaming as it has developed and continues to evolve throughout the world.

This conference traces its origins back to 1974, and is recognized as the premier academic and research oriented conference in the world, bringing together international experts, representing a diverse array of disciplines, to examine and analyze gambling from many perspectives.

Lead researchers from academia, research organizations, and governments, along with leaders and representatives from commercial gaming industries, regulatory agencies, and the helping services—as well as professional gamblers and the general public—have gathered at prior conferences to present and evaluate their research findings, discuss current trends and new technologies, and explore the changes and challenges created by the increased presence of commercial gaming to citizens throughout the world. In May 2013, the experts will gather again, in the bright lights of Las Vegas.

Conference Fee:
Full Conference: US $745 and Early Registration (Prior to April 15): US $675

**Early registration is encouraged — Deadlines for registration will be strictly enforced.

Day Rate: US $300 and Student Rate: US $295

**Please provide proof of current student status.

Payment for registration fees may be made by check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
Checks must be paid in US dollars only and made payable to the Board of Regents.

Group Discounts:
Groups from the same company or organization registering at the same time will be offered the following discount:

  • 3-9 people attending, 5 percent discount 10 or more attending, 10 percent discount

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made before May 1, 2013 will be assessed a $50 processing fee. After May 1, 2013, no refunds will be given, but someone else can attend in your place. All cancellations must be made in writing.
