Online Webinar

Description

Discovery learning/active learning/experiential learning is a teaching paradigm that involves students actively participating in the learning process by means of conducting research as opposed to passively absorbing the course content. As students interact with faculty, peers, and the material, their cognitive, emotional, social, and sensory networks are activated, ensuring enhanced learning and retention of new information.

Learning Objectives

By participating in this workshop you will:

  • Actively engage students in hands-on, real-world experiences, as well as deliberate reflection about their learning
  • Design learning activities that are authentic, realistic, relevant, integrated, engaging, and formative
  • Help students understand how knowledge is generated by walking them through the stages of research process and cycles

Presenter

  • Levent Atici, Executive Director, Office of Undergraduate Research
