Description

Many graduate students are impacted by imposter syndrome and the feeling that they do not belong or do not deserve to be in their program. These internalized feelings often come with the worry of being exposed as an imposter or fraud, and feeling unqualified or unworthy of one's academic merits and achievements. Imposter syndrome is also the belief that one's professional accomplishments and success was simply due to luck or good timing. This workshop will discuss what causes imposter syndrome and help you combat it because you do belong here and you are not a fraud. By participating in this workshop you will:

  • Learn what Imposter Syndrome is
  • Discuss who experiences imposter feelings
  • Discuss the lasting impact of imposter syndrome
  • Learn strategies for overcoming imposter syndrome and surviving and thriving in graduate school
