Description
Dr. Laura Culley, Associate Dean for Community Engagement for UNLV School of Medicine, will present information about the Health Improves Together (HIT) program for students affiliated with UNLV Center for Academic Enrichment and Outreach (CAEO) Student Support Services (SSS) STEM.
HIT is a volunteer initiative open to undergraduate and post-bac students in Southern Nevada. Through classes and extended externships at public, private and non-profit organizations, HIT participants learn about the social determinants of health, obstacles to care and the inequities of the current health care system and develop strategies to balance the inequities as much as possible.
