Description
Health Improves Together (HIT) is a volunteer student initiative open to all undergraduate and post-bac students in Southern Nevada. The goal is to reach out to future professionals in the health fields and introduce them the strong commitment to community which is reflected in the mission of the UNLV School of Medicine. Students are exposed to a wide range of social determinants affecting patient health and wellness. The program requires a six month commitment of four hours per week participation in a team based advocacy externship, plus an additional two hours per month of class time provided by the Program Director. These monthly classroom sessions include group discussions, invited guests from the community, review of basic Community Health concepts, information concerning community resources, and sharing externship experiences.
Please join us for an information session about the Health Improves Together (HIT) Program. Light refreshments will be provided.
