Dr. Jaewon Lim, associate professor, and Dr. DooHwan Won, visiting professor, School of Public Policy and Leadership, will present "Examining Tourism Demand Elasticity of International Visitors to Las Vegas."
Approximately 15% of total visitors to Las Vegas come from foreign countries.This research develops income and price elasticities of tourism demand for the foreign visitors from the top 16 origin countries. Using a dynamic panel data analysis over a 10-year period (2006-2015), the authors estimate three sets of short- and long-run dynamic models for ‘All Foreign Visitors’, ‘European Visitors’, and ‘Asian and Australian Visitors’, respectively.
Dr. Lim is an associate professor in the School of Public Policy and Leadership in the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he also serves as a senior fellow at Brookings Mountain West.
Dr. Won is a professor in the Department of Economics at Pusan National University in South Korea and is currently a visiting professor in the School of Public Policy and Leadership in the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
