Title: The Role of Transesophageal Echocardiography in Cardioembolic Stroke

Speaker: Marcus F. Stoddard, MD, FACC, FAHA, FASE, Professor of Medicine, University of Louisville

Objectives:

  • Describe diverse causes of ischemic cerebrovascular accident (CVA)
  • Debate the advantages of transesophageal echocardiography vs. transthoracic echocardiography in CVA evaluation
  • Justify the indications for echocardiography in clinical scenarios
