Title: The Role of Transesophageal Echocardiography in Cardioembolic Stroke
Speaker: Marcus F. Stoddard, MD, FACC, FAHA, FASE, Professor of Medicine, University of Louisville
Objectives:
- Describe diverse causes of ischemic cerebrovascular accident (CVA)
- Debate the advantages of transesophageal echocardiography vs. transthoracic echocardiography in CVA evaluation
- Justify the indications for echocardiography in clinical scenarios
