Rates of teen birth, HIV, and STIs in the United States remain among the highest of any industrialized nation. (Socio-economic, cultural and structural factors such as poverty, limited access to health care, racism and unemployment contribute to these high rates)
Being able to get STI/STD checks are apart of living a safe and healthy sex life. Having access to testing services allows sexually active people to be aware of their STI/STD status and a preventative measure to fighting rising STI rates.
During this talk, students will gather to speak about advocating and gaining free STI/STD testing on campus for all students.
