Geoscience Seminar: May 1
The geoscience department weekly seminar presents:
Speaker: Wenrong Cao
Topic: Crustal Thickening and Exhumation of Gangdese Mountains in Southern Tibet
Wenrong Cao has interests in the evolution of continents, especially the compositional, thermal and structural histories of the continental crust along convergent plate margins and how the heat and mass (magma, solid rocks, and fluid) transfer within the continent. Cao also combines field mapping (1:10K mapping, ArcMap), laboratory analyses (LA-ICP-MS zircon dating, electron probe), image processing (ImageJ) and numerical simulations (1D-2D FEM and FDM codes) in his studies.
