Speaker: Karin Peternel

Topic: " Employment in the Environmental Industry "

Karin Peternel has primarily spent her career working for private engineering/architecture companies, aside from a few years for state or county jurisdictions. Karin specializes in water quality modeling of surface waters. Her thesis involved using the HSPF model to assess the effects of river restoration on the river’s assimilative capacity of nitrogen. Karin is also a Certified Floodplain Manager, with experience using 2-dimensional hydraulic models for floodplain studies. Karin has been on the Board of Directors for the NWRA for two years, and is currently the Student Coordinator.
