First-Generation Celebration Week: Nov. 7-11, 2022
Office/Remote Location
Description
Calling all UNLV colleges, departments, and offices to join us in recognizing our first-generation students, faculty, and staff. Once again, this year's celebration will be campus-wide.
With a nod to the 2022-23 Common Read, "Tell Me Who You Are" by Winona Guo and Priya Vulchi, the 2022 Celebration Week will celebrate and recognize our first-generation students, faculty, and staff under the general theme of "Tell Me Your First-Gen Story" and "I Have a First-Gen Story."
How To Join In The Fun:
- Celebrate your first-generation students, faculty, and staff during the First-Generation Celebration Breakfast at 10 a.m. on Nov. 9.
- Communicate with your students, faculty, and staff to identify first-generation members in your college, department, office, or floor who would like to participate.
- Decide how your area can help celebrate first-generation stories. (We will even provide some ideas to get you started.)
- Finalize and submit your involvement or activities by Sept. 18.
