Description

UNLV’s Extended Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) Student Success Speaker Series aims to highlight and grow innovative approaches to supporting student success in an equitable and inclusive learning environment.

The next installment will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, in the Student Union Cohen Theatre, followed by light refreshments in the green room from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The event features MSI Student Council presenters Kristine Jan C. Espinoza, Ray Fletcher, Daniel Perez, and Kiara Sims.

Each will discuss projects they are spearheading to reduce inequity, and to promote educational success for students of color and other underrepresented students in higher education at UNLV. Projects include collecting ethnicity data, creating funding to support graduate student research, purchasing equipment for the university radio station, creating student podcasts, and artwork near the residence halls.
