The Lee Business School MBA program welcomes Fortune 500 Speaker Series speaker Andrew Martin, senior director and team lead of US adult vaccines marketing for Pfizer. The topic of his presentation is MBA careers in healthcare.
Andrew Martin is senior director and team lead of US adult vaccines marketing with Pfizer. At Pfizer, Martin is responsible for partnering with key stakeholders across the healthcare system to build programs and interventions designed to increase adult immunization rates and improve public health. Over the past two years, Andrew has successfully initiated more than 30 strategic partnerships and alliances with technology companies, universities and large health systems that have helped protect millions of adults against vaccine-preventable diseases.
Martin has worked in the healthcare field for more than 10 years and has experience with gastrointestinal disorders, anti-infectives, women’s health, and vaccines. He has held roles in managed care, commercial development, inline marketing, and market development. In 2010, he led the consumer marketing efforts for the launch of Prevnar 13, the most commercially successful vaccine in the world with sales exceeding $4 billion. He has also lived and worked in China where he led a team that designed a new vaccines sales and marketing organizational model and successfully re-positioned the company’s flagship vaccine, Prevnar 7.
Prior to beginning his healthcare career, he spent five years in various sales and marketing roles at Fiskars Inc, a multinational consumer goods manufacturer. At Fiskars, he managed the Asia-Pacific and South American markets and was responsible for opening the first two retail stores in company history in Beijing, China.
Martin has an undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a MBA from Cornell University.
