Parkway of Broken Dreams is a documentary that tells the story of the scrappy group of artists, poets, musicians, DJs, and entrepreneurs who built a thriving, influential, and short-lived arts scene along Maryland Parkway in the 1990s, The film is the debut feature by director Perez, a former Las Vegas magazine editor and freelance journalist whose 2006 Las Vegas Weekly oral history of the Maryland Parkway scene served as the template for the documentary.
