The USDOT University Transportation Center (UTC) on Railroad Infrastructure Sustainability and Durability at UNLV invited Dr. Anthony Perl, Professor of Urban Studies & Political Science to present his study's findings regarding high-speed rail in a series of Distinguished Seminar in Railroad Infrastructure.

 

Presentation Title: Lessons for the United States from High-Speed Rail’s Urban Impact in China.

Abstract: High-speed rail (HSR) is enabling new form of urban and regional development across China. This presentation examines the increasing urban accessibility that has been created by HSR across China and draws lessons for how HSR development impacts could affect mobility and spatial dynamics in the United States.

Attendance: A total of 19 participants including students, faculty and people from industry attended the seminar.
