• Summarize major changes introduced by the 2015 ATA (American Thyroid Association) guidelines for differentiated thyroid cancer
• Foster understanding of current staging vs. risk stratification
• Characterize NIFTP (Non-Invasive Follicular Thyroid neoplasm with Papillary-like nuclear features)
• Show relationship of surgical complications to surgical volume and type of thyroid surgery
• Elucidate roles of molecular testing in prevention of surgery and directing surgical management
• Review consequences of 2015 ATA guidelines and some criticisms of the guidelines
