Description

Hoping for a healthier world and daydreaming about traveling. Which places are on your travel bucket list? Share your destinations below! Until it becomes safer to travel, continue practicing physical distancing. Brandie Aguinaldo, a Facility Attendant at the UNLV SRWC, has created a TOP 10 beach list for the islands of Kaua’i and Maui. Brandie is in her second semester at UNLV as a Pre-Nursing major. She was born and raised in the state of Hawai’i and you guessed it, she LOVES going to the beach. “Going to the beach is a way that I spend time with my friends and family, a way for people in Hawai'i to stay connected. At the beach, I like to swim, catch baby crabs on the shore, have little bonfires with my friends, and most of all, bodyboard.” The pictures in this post are her favorite beaches in Hawai’i (I have mainly been to beaches on Kaua’i and Maui). If she were to go to any beach in the world right now, these would be on her MUST GO TO list: 10 - Poipu Beach Park, Kauai’ HI: The tourist favorite on Kaua’i. 9 - Napili Bay, Maui, HI: Ideal place on Maui if you want to do various activities. You can paddle board, snorkel, bodyboard, swim, etc here. 8 - Salt Pond Beach Park, Kaua’i HI: Ideal place for families, calm and nice when the sun is out. 7 - Kalapaki Beach, Kaua’i HI: One of the ideal places for tourists, calm and right next to the hotels. 6 - Makena Beach, Maui, HI: Locals call this beach: “Big Beach,” because the waves are big here, making it an ideal location for surfing and bodyboarding. 5 - Kekaha Beach Park, Kaua’i, HI: Locals refer to this beach as “Intahz” (In-tuh-z). The waves can be rough here, more ideal for bodyboarding. 4 - Kukuiula Boat Harbor, Kaua’i HI: The nicest place with freshwater to swim at. 3 - Hanalei Bay, Kaua’i, HI: If you like doing flips, off the pier at this beach is the best place to do it. 2 - Olowalu Beach, Maui, HI: My favorite place to bodyboard on Maui. 1 - Polihale State Park, Kaua’i, HI: Every westside Kaua’i local’s favorite. The ideal spot to have a potluck with your friends.
