Description
DASH Dinner Discussion was created as an extension of DASH (Delivering and Serving Hope). Once a month, a speaker from a local non-profit organization or community group is invited to come and chat with students in a low-key, casual environment about what their organization does and how students can get involved.
For February, in conjunction with Black History Month, we will be learning about food insecurity with the Urban Seed Foundation, UNLV NAACP and UNLV Black Lives Matter. The Urban Seed Foundation is committed to addressing the challenge of urban food deserts by transforming them into local food-producing urban ecosystems. UNLV NAACP is a chapter of the national
organization dedicated to ensuring the political, educational, social and economic equality of marginalized communities. Black Lives Matter at UNLV is a part of the international activist movement campaigning against systemic racism and violence towards Black folk.
Food will be provided, please bring your reusable water bottles.
