Content & Materials: Using Videos Effectively in your Online Course

Apr. 20, 2022, 10am to 11am

Office/Remote Location

During this synchronous workshop, participants will explore different ways video can be used in a WebCampus course to connect with students and to create learning opportunities. Videos are important to include in an online course, and are instrumental resources for your students, especially for those who may have reading difficulties or simply learn easier through visual and auditory channels. This workshop will examine how the media in a course, videos in particular, supports the teaching presence, humanizes a course, and engages students. Participants will leave this workshop with a deeper understanding of the rationale for including videos in an online course, how to use them effectively, and ultimately create a more varied and engaging learning environment in the online space.

By the end of this synchronous course, participants will be able to:

  • Utilize strategies to create effective videos in your course for learning opportunities
  • Identify ways to reuse videos in WebCampus
