Community Engagement Response Team (CERT) Training
Major emergencies can and do happen. If an emergency or disaster happens on our campuses or within our community, are you prepared to help yourself, your roommate, a colleague, or your neighbor? In the event of a large-scale disaster, first responders might not be able to help all of those affected right away. That’s where you can come in!
CERT training can provide a wealth of knowledge on a few basic skills that can prepare you to stay safe and help those around you in the event of an emergency. The CERT program will educate and train volunteers in disaster preparedness and empower participants to take on a more active role in campus/community resilience by supporting emergency responders during and after an emergency, as well as during large exercises and public events.
With YOU, our campus can be a better-prepared and more resilient community to serve on and off campus. We invite students, faculty, staff, and their families and friends to join CERT. Classes are free and the experience gained is invaluable!.
This two-day event will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday March 19 and Sunday March 20. It is open to all faculty, staff, students, and their families. Registration is required.
**Both full days are required to complete the course.
