The Barrick comes alive with free workshops and music for all ages. Learn clay making and drawing, test the limits of painting in virtual reality, listen to live performances of famous classical works, and more. The event will run throughout our normal hours from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. No need to book - just come.

Performances by UNLV Violin Project | 10 am & 2 pm

The musicians of Violin Project make the most of the exhibition hall acoustics with passionate live perfomances of work by classical composers.

Interactive Claymaking Demo with Clay Arts Vegas | 9 am, 11 am, 3 pm

How did the ancient artists of "Vessel" make their pots? Clay Arts Vegas shows you how to create your own clay art with techniques that haven’t changed in two thousand years.

Line drawing with Lance Smith | 9 am - 2 pm, 3 pm - 5 pm

Andrew Schoultz’s lines seem to vibrate and move on the walls. In this workshop, Las Vegas artist Lance Smith will show you how to make line a dynamic force in your art.

Storytime with the UNLV Teachers Development & Resource Library | 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 4 pm

The UNLV Teacher Development & Resources Library staff know that listening to stories is an important part of childhood development. Join them for a story time featuring a hand-picked selection of picture books from their collection
of over 30,000 titles for children and young adults.

Tiltbrush Virtual Reality Painting | 11 am - 1 pm

Put on a virtual reality headset and dream up paintings that float through the air. Creative technicians from the upcoming virtual reality studio at Lied Library will guide you through the process.

Zine Making Workshop | 1 pm - 3 pm

Fun, intimate, opinionated — a zine can be whatever you want. Meet the custodians of the Las Vegas Zine Library and learn how to create handmade publications of your own.

STEAM at the Museum | 2 - 5 pm

Technology collaborates with the art of Andrew Schoultz in an imaginative augmented reality activity created by Si Jung Kim and his team from UNLV Entertainment Engineering and Design.
