The College of Engineering Senior Design Competition is a highlight event of the year-long senior design project, which helps the senior students focus on increasing the quality and potential for commercial application for their design projects.
Each student in his or her senior year chooses, plans, designs, and prototypes a product in this required element of the curriculum. The senior design project encourages the student to use everything learned in the engineering and computer science programs to create a practical, real-world solution to an engineering or computer science challenge.
A team of industry judges chooses winners in each category based on innovation, commercial potential, presentation quality, and sustainability. A first place cash prize and a second place prize are given in each discipline, in addition to awards in commercial potential, sustainability and an overall grand prize.
Awards will be announced at the College of Engineering holiday party.
