Breakout Poet: Claire Schwartz
Claire Schwartz, poet and academic, will read from her debut collection, bound, and aswer all your questions on poetry, art, and tenderness.
Claire Schwartz is the author of bound (Button Poetry, 2018), selected by Aziza Barnes as a winner of the 2016 Button Poetry Contest. Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in The Believer, The Iowa Review, The Massachusetts Review, Los Angeles Review of Books, Virginia Quarterly Review, and elsewhere. With Kaveh Akbar and Sarah Kay, she writes a weekly column for the Paris Review called "Poetry RX." Claire offers editorial feedback through The Bridge. She is a PhD Candidate in African American Studies, American Studies, and Women's, Gender & Sexuality Studies at Yale. In spring 2019, she will be a Visiting Assistant Professor in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Wesleyan University.
