The Black Studies Research Roundtable
A forum and network to socialize, mentor, and share published work and work in progress by Black Studies scholars, students in Nevada and beyond. Meeting via webinar, usually at 4 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month. The scholarly and artistic portions will be recorded for later on-demand viewing.
The roundtable on Friday, Feb. 26 features a vocal recital, poetry reading and discussion featuring Juilliard graduate and UNR professor of Music, tenor Albert R. Lee, Ph.D., singing texts by Langston Hughes; three-time National Poetry Slam champion and Director of African American and African Diaspora Studies at UNLV, Javon Johnson, Ph.D., and UNR Assistant Professor of English, Pardis Dabashi, respondent.
