Description
The Donna Beam Gallery is pleased to present the 2022 BFA Studio Art exhibition. This exhibition marks the culmination of a fifth year of studies for students pursuing a bachelor’s of fine arts degree in art. This year’s cohort of 10 artists includes:
• Jared Anthony Dominique
• Sleepy Ephem
• Johnny Espitia
• Iulia Filipov-Serediuc
• Sam Ganados
• Lyn Hinojosa
• Nanako Kono
• Victor Molina
• Jana Ogle
• Christina Uran
Each has spent the year working on their projects, talking about art, helping each other, asking for feedback, and developing their individual thesis. Thematically, the work pursues a closer look at the environment, impressions from daydreams expressed as reality, gender, sexuality, non-conformity, the memory of familiar relationships, and others. Solving for the creative challenge is the push for these artists. Each of the candidates exhibits an example of their artwork in the exhibition. Be it bold and aggressive, provocative, colorful, intimate, serene, playful or humorous, the work is strong and indicative of the times.
