Best Buddies Member Meetings
Best Buddies, a registered student organization, invites you to attend their biweekly member meetings to participate in Friendship, Inclusion, Diversity.
Best Buddies is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). UNLV Best Buddies is a newer organization at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Reinstated in the fall of 2009, the chapter has over 20 members. During the first year, the chapter was featured on Fox 5 News and participated twice in the Spread the Word to End the World Campaign, sponsored by the Special Olympics. Their biggest accomplishment was having seven successful and committed friendship matches between UNLV Students and their Buddies. To celebrate the end of their first full year at UNLV, the members traveled to Disneyland to spend a day with Mickey Mouse! The chapter is full of laughter, companionship, passion and commitment. During the 2015-2016 school year, their goal is to establish themselves as volunteers within the community by reaching out to other organizations, while also building lifelong friendships with their peers and each other.
