Joseph M. Zaug from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will be the featured speaker at an upcoming Department of Physics & Astronomy colloquium. His talk is titled, Ultrafast Shock Compression Experiments to Rapidly Test Extreme Condition Materials Predictions.

In this talk, Zaug will discuss recent results from ultrafast tabletop laser compression experiments on fluids, polymers, and high energy density organic molecules including single crystals.
