Artist Talk: Kara Joslyn
Applying polymer auto paint to canvas with a laborious process of masking and airbrushing, L.A. artist Kara Joslyn teases out the delicate quality of her forms while calling up tensions between the hand-made and the industrial.
Her free all-ages workshop from 4-7 p.m. in the Barrick lobby will explore different ways in which everyday paper can be shaped into dramatic sculptural forms.
The artist's work will be on view in the Barrick's gallery as part of Process, curated by Matthew Gardocki.
At 7 p.m. in the auditorium she will discuss the history and intention of her work, her creative practice, and her career.
