Antarctica - A UNLV Natural History and Photographic Adventure

Join the Continuing Education office on an expedition to the very ends of the earth. This land of glittering ice, majestic peaks, and dazzling beauty, is a haven for migratory birds, whales, seals and other marine mammals. They come each summer to feast in its food-rich coastal waters. We will visit during the Antarctic summer from Dec. 9-20 when temperatures are mild, generally hovering just above freezing; and experience our 11-day cruise aboard the 92 passenger Akedemik Sergey Vavilov, a well-equipped research vessel, highly maneuverable, and very stable.

Join the trip leaders Margaret N. Rees and Sharon K. Schafer for an entertaining and educational multimedia presentation to learn more about the 2013 UNLV expedition to Antarctica.

Additional presentation available on the Paradise Campus on:

  • May 15, 6 p.m. in room 302
  • May 30, 6 p.m. in room 107
