Please join us for a reading from Beverly Rogers Fellow Amanda Fortini, author of the forthcoming Flamingo Road, a literary exploration of Las Vegas. She will be introduced by the writer and UNLV MFA candidate Krista Diamond.

Amanda Fortini has written  for The New York Times,  The New Yorker, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, The Believer, California Sunday, Vanity Fair,  New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, The New Republic, Elle, Slate, and The Los Angeles Review of Books, among other publications. Her pieces have been widely anthologized, including in Best American Political Writing and Best American Travel Writing, and she was a 2020 recipient of the Rabkin Prize for arts journalism. She is currently the Beverly Rogers Fellow at the Black Mountain Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she also taught for several years at the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies. She is writing a book about Las Vegas, Flamingo Road, to be published by Liveright. She divides her time between Las Vegas, Nevada and Livingston, Montana.
