Description
Risk Management & Safety (RMS) staff will cover lab safety precautions and hazards to avoid. This training meets OSHA requirements and is only required once for researchers. Introduction given by Julie Bertoia, Lab Safety Manager. Training session led by George Fratus, RSM Environmental Management & Lab Safety Manager.
Learning Objectives: By participating in this workshop you will:

Understand the mechanics of lab safety

Learn about the different hazards that can occur in a lab

Become familiar with the various lab equipment and how to safely conduct research in a lab

Learn about the required precautions when conducting research in a lab

This workshop is open to UNLV undergraduate and graduate students. Please RSVP at least 24 hours in advance for the workshop.
