As aspiring academics, what knowledge and skills do you need to craft compelling application materials for academic job positions? This initial workshop in the Academic Job Search Demystified series will cover strategies for creating standout CVs, cover letters, and teaching/research/diversity statements, while also providing participants with valuable insights into the academic hiring process and how to best prepare.
By participating in this workshop you will:
- Learn how to tailor your CVs and cover letters to effectively showcase your academic achievements, research expertise, and teaching experiences.
- Gain understanding of how to write impactful teaching statements that highlight your philosophy, methodologies, and experience so far.
- Develop understanding of the academic job application process, including key deadlines, expectations, and evaluation criteria.
