Description

Partnerships within our communities – between educators, administrators, elected and appointed leaders, non-profits, families and more – are the most successful paths to sustainable, comprehensive, and successful advancements in education and mental health. Join us at this year’s Summit on Nevada Education as we dig deep into policies and practices that explore and support collaborative approaches to education and mental health.

For the first time, the Summit is expanding to a two-day format so we can focus Friday’s discussions on research and policy and, thanks to a partnership with Teach for America, Saturday’s sessions will focus on practice-oriented strategies especially tailored for educators.

About the Summit

The UNLV College of Education is proud to work to expand existing best practice into next generation practices that address and overcome the challenges we face in education here in our state. The annual Summit on Nevada Education welcomes educators, administrators, policymakers, community leaders, teacher preparation leaders, pre-service teachers, and others with a direct link to education in Nevada to gather in an open forum to share ideas, challenges, and lessons to improve and celebrate Nevada education.

Opportunity for CEUs

UNLV's College of Education, in partnership with CCSD and Nevada Department of Education, will provide certification for completed professional development instructional hours toward teaching licensure renewal. Participants will earn 2 CU hours for each day they attend. If you need a CU certificate, please mark the appropriate box when registering and a certificate will be emailed to you shortly after the event.

This year’s event will include a breakfast and luncheon each day, as well as a mid-morning coffee break, for attendees to relax and network.
