Office/Remote Location

Description

Deep disagreement can characterize public and private discussions of controversial policy issues. Partisan differences in approach, understanding of the facts, and perceptions of each other can lead to contentious and unproductive debate, entrenched animosity, and the escalation of conflict. Professor Jennifer Robbennolt will discuss some of the psychological roots of these patterns and some of the lessons that psychology has to offer about how we might foster more constructive engagement across difference.
